Any type of regimentation forced on people as individuals within groups through social norms, religious dogma, cultural identity taken to extreme, political manipulation, and dictatorship of tyrannical regimes is revolting and repulsive. The consequential uniformity of the methodical order, characteristic to all these inflexible systems, limits the natural development and progress of the individual. However, the order of things may be threatened by the tiniest deviation from the norm and uniqueness resurfaces.

The mathematical matrix, a rectangular group of numbers, symbols, or expressions, arranged in rows and columns is the perfect visual representation of regimentation. While individual items, all the elements of the matrix follow the same strict mathematical rules. The matrix cannot exist outside these rules. A printing matrix is  a fairly accurate physical equivalence of a mathematical matrix. The works of this series were created using a combination of manual printing and traditional painting techniques.
